We're in that weird space between PAX and TGS, and we've marked the lull with a heavy dose of gaming, everything from
Dragon Age to
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. Unfortunately, we don't talk about
any of those on this episode. ... No, we do, we do. Just trying to mix it up.
Also, thanks to us for authorizing Alan Black to use his photoshopping powers on this image.

PC gamers may have noticed their collective Spidey senses tingling earlier this week, as Activision quietly announced that the PC version of
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions would
not be releasing alongside its console counterparts. According to the launch
press release, the PC version will arrive "soon." Speaking to
Big Download, an Activision rep revealed that "soon" apparently means later this year. Stay strong, true believers, ol' Webhead will swing in eventually.

PC Gamer has posted the latest round of its
Valve interview series, and today it's all about
Portal 2. The interview covers a range of topics, including how GLaDOS tries to pit players against each other in co-op mode -- something we
heard about during E3 -- and designing puzzles that require four portals to solve.
One of the most interesting bits revealed is that Valve originally toyed with the idea of not using portals at all. "What if [the
Portal franchise] was always about introducing a new puzzle element that you're going through?" asked Valve's Erik Wolpaw. "It's about Aperture Science, and now you're going through this new testing track with this new element." The team tried using both paint (which is in
Portal 2 as gel) and a gravity gun as central mechanics, but every tester wound up wanting the portal gun back (and who can blame them?).
Speaking of paint, Wolpaw revealed that there is another kind of gel in addition to the
propulsion and
repulsion gels. This third gel is apparently "sticky" and PC Gamer postulates that it may enable players to walk on walls, though Wolpaw noted Valve is still "working on it." Check out the full interview for more
Portal goodness.

This latest
Marvel vs Capcom 3 trailer reveals that
Mega Man Legends' Tron Bonne is apparently a playable character, as she was in
MvC2. Oh, Captain America also destroys a helicopter, Viewtiful Joe rides Amaterasu on a flowery Super-Skrull and, well, a lot of stuff happens. You should watch it.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is already a rather creepy game. The darkest iteration of the franchise yet,
MM's tale of a world constantly on the verge of ending is oftentimes haunting. But what if the cartridge were actually
haunted? What would the game look like?
A tale credited to Jadusable has been chronicled on
Creepy + Pasta. The story begins with a mysterious shop keeper and an odd cartridge -- "It was the standard grey color, except that someone had written Majora on it in black permanent marker." Given away for free, the recipient played through the game without a problem; the only noticeable glitch involved NPCs calling him BEN, the name assigned to the cartridge's first save file.
Activating the
Day 4 glitch, however, spawned a number of odd, unexplainable events that only a ghost (or a very determined hacker) could produce. One of the game's most iconic lines -- "You've met with a horrible fate, haven't you?" -- repeats throughout the eerie series of events, chronicled on YouTube. Who is BEN? And what could this all mean?

Have you spent the days following t
he announcement of
Super Street Fighter IV's upcoming DLC wardrobe change attempting to discern the new garments from the fuzzy silhouettes that were teased? Discern no longer, friends -- series producer Yoshinori Ono recently
took to the Twitters to show off some concept art for Ryu, Chun-Li, Fei Long, Cammy, Juri and Sakura's new duds. Check them all out in the gallery below.
Now, we're far from fashion experts, but we can't help but take umbrage with a few of these designs. Like, Sakura? Do you know how difficult it is to perform crushing high kicks while wearing floral flip-flops? And Fei Long? It's after Labor Day, dude. Your whole situation is
jacked. And Cammy?
No.
Don't.
You can't.

A listing for "MAG 2" has popped up on
Walmart's site, brandishing a $60 price tag and a tentative release date of January 25, 2011. This is the first we've heard of a sequel to this year's 256-player online shooter
MAG, but the very fact that it's listed leads us to believe
something is in the works.
Could it be a re-released version of
MAG packing in all of
the DLC? Perhaps a repackaging with
PlayStation Move support? Only time will tell. Or Sony, who we've reached out to for comment. Whichever comes first.
[Thanks, Kromis]

Crap of Defense -- in spite of
declaring itself to be the "worst game ever" -- is making the jump to pretty much every platform out there. Like the
PSP version, the game is being re-branded as
Paper Wars: Cannon Fodder, but will (presumably) feature the same sloppily drawn visuals and rather cheap-sounding audio. Like
Angry Birds, this game simply cannot be contained by the iPhone.
Already available as a PSN Mini in Europe, the
ESRB has rated additional versions of the game for DSi, Wii, Xbox 360 and PC. Considering the simplicity of the game, we're unsurprised by how quickly the developer has been able to make so many ports. Watch the distressingly cheap trailer for the iPhone original after the break.
